A Letter from Michael's Wife, Susan Thomas
I first want to thank you for being a valued client of my husband, Attorney Michael Thomas. While you may already be aware, I am reaching out to all of his clients to officially let you know that Michael passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021. While our hearts are heavy with the loss, we truly rejoice that he is with his Savior.
Since Michael's passing, I have been navigating what to do with the practice. I am pleased to tell you that you will see the same friendly faces of Jenni Sordyl, office manager, and Ondrea Weisgerber, Medicaid Specialist, in the office. As you know, they have been such a valuable part of Mike’s work, and I am thankful for their faithful service over the years.
In addition, I have been searching for an attorney to take over the practice and have been praying God would direct me to the right person. I am pleased to let you know we have found that person in Lori Oancea.
In January, Lori reached out to me about the practice. I have since had several meetings with her and feel she is the person that is the best fit for taking it over. While no one will ever be able to replace Michael, it is evident that Lori has the same love for helping her clients as Michael had, and I am confident that she is the person he would have chosen.
Lori received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. She is married and has three sons. Her son Zach Oancea is a paralegal and will also be working at the office. Lori is an attorney with experience and skills in preparing wills, trusts, powers of attorney, deeds, and probate, as well as Medicaid. At this time, she will come to Flint three to four days per week to meet with clients at the office.
